I can’t believe that it has been 9 months since I completed my chemotherapy/radiation treatments! This is my third CT Scan to check the success of my “I’m sure it’s gone” cancer treatment.
My appointment was at 7:00am, which means I should be the first one in line to get scanned. I arrived at 6:50am and was quickly checked it and was sent to get my blood drawn. First stick and she found a good vein. Nice job Myrtle! A quick test shows that my kidneys are functioning well enough to dispose of the contrast “dye” used during the scan.
Sure enough, I’m the first scan of the day. A little warming sensation from the contrast “dye” and five minutes later the scan is complete. Remove the IV and I’m leaving the hospital at 7:30am.
Have I told you about the free valet parking at Vanderbilt Medical Center? It is awesome. Drive up, give the attendant your name and your key, get a receipt and your on your way. There are at least three valet drop-off areas that I’ve used on the campus – so there’s one close to where I need to go. I’ve tried to tip the attendants when they bring the car around, but they refuse! Awesome 😉
I have an appointment with Dr. Barbara, my radiation oncologist, on Thursday when I will get the results of the scan.
