We are afraid of truth, afraid of fortune, afraid of death, and afraid of each other. Our age yields no great and perfect persons. – Ralph Waldo Emerson
You just discovered you have fifteen minutes to live. What would you do? Here are my thoughts.
I had my brush with death in 2010 when I was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma (cancer tumor at base of tongue and lymph node in my neck). It was scary, especially at first, not knowing if the treatment regimen would be successful. Fortunately, I’m well on my way to a full recovery and no sign of cancer for the past 9 months.
With 15 minutes to live, I would…
- Pray
- Share my many blessings with my family
- Give thanks for all the wonderful people in my life
- Reflect on the generosity of people who have inspired me and helped me along my journey
- Smile
- Celebrate a fulfilling life
