Dick with Buzz Cut - April 30
Well, I finally decided to go ahead and get a buzz cut. After two days of cleaning handfuls of hair from the shower drain, I felt it would be easier to just hasten the inevitable. Mary thinks I have a nice looking scalp. I’m glad she likes it because she will be seeing a lot of it over the next six (or more) months.
One plus, I don’t need to shampoo my hair every day – saves time and money 😉 But it is a little “scary” when I look in the mirror.
It needs a little sun, but the weather this weekend will be rainy and overcast so I will have to wait a few days before I can remove the white glow!
Who knows, maybe I’ll grow to like the “Telly Salvalas” look and decide to keep my head shaven after I’m cancer-free!
Another great day – eating well and feeling fine!
You look very handsome Dick. I like the look. Remember — sunscreen is your new best friend — when the rainstorms finally clear.
We love you!
Susan Foster
Hi Sue,
Yep, now that the sun is back out, I will put on a thick coat of sunscreen and get some color on my skull!
Love ya, Dick
Good Morning Dick and Mary,
I just wanted you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and that I have no doubt that you will beat this. You are two of the bravest people sharing your journey. May God continue to bless you. Keep the faith and stay encouraged.
Hi Earnestine,
Thank you very much for your thoughts and prayers!
Dick
Richard:
I love you with or without hair. It is true that I think that you have a beautiful head, but get rid of the idea of maintaining a buzz cut permanently.
Now, while you have no hair and look a little different, how about a date? We can pretend that we don’t know each other and are meeting for the first time…(;-)
Mary
Hi Mary,
I love you too! With or without your hair.
The date idea is a very good one. I like it. Be on the lookout for an invitation soon.
Love,
Richard (Dick)
Hi Dick Like the haircut, I heard that only people without hair have a perfect head! You have always had a great head, with great things in it and you have used it again with a great web site. You are in Connie and my prayers and we think of you always, looking forward to seeing you in June, toward the end. All our love
Don & Connie
PS: I think you might have a promise on that date!
Hi Mary
Hi Don and Connie,
Thanks for your prayers and for the compliment about my hairless head! I’m slowly getting used to looking in the mirror and not wondering who that is looking back at me.
We are looking forward to seeing you in late June. I should be receiving my radiation treatments at that time.
I am looking forward to my date with Mary. Hopefully I can still charm her;)
Love to both of you,
Dick
You truly look handsome !!!
Hi Karol Ann,
Thank you very much!
Dick
I don’t know, Dick.. I actually like the new look!
Hello Dick and Mary,
I hope you’re having a good week and wanted you to know you’re in my thoughts and prayers and I look forward to our next gathering!
Wow, in this photo you look like a younger version of your father! Hope things are going well for you and grab some sunless tanner for your head!
Hi Fosters – All of you look great on the website. I recognized a lot of you! Those kids are growing ! As will your hair, Dick, in its own time. Maybe you’ll get curls!
Hang in there – my prayers are with all of you! Jean – Queen of the Hill. (Mark is king of the garage – no other titles as yet for the others!)
Hi Jean,
Great to hear from you! I trust that all is well with your new home.
Thanks, Dick
Hi Dick ; I don’t really know you , however you have two of my favorite people as parents . Say,”Hi” to Mary & Don for us. We surly do miss them in church . Great seeing the family pictures. Thanks for making them available.
May God comfort you & your family as He continues to cure the cancer.
Jean Hall Kavis gave me the web page . We work together at the church.
God bless
Hi Ethel,
I’ve got Mom sitting next to me and she says, “thanks for getting in touch. She missed you and others in the church as well. Dad is still having some good days and some not as good days.” Mom goes to see him 4 or 5 times a week.
Tell Jean thanks for giving you my web site info.
Thanks for your prayers.
Dick
