We celebrated Mom’s and Dad’s birthday today with a great party at Claiborne-Hughes, where Dad is staying. Dave, Dan, and Ann flew in on Friday to join the celebration! Also, Mom’s brother, Donald, and Connie scheduled their summer RV travel plans to be here also. Mom, Dad, Mary, my wife, and I were there, of course. So all of the “kids” we there. Unfortuntely, Michelle, Dave’s wife, and Susan, Dan’s wife, could not make the trip.
Thanks to Mary, my wife, for preparing all the food, setting up the room, and having a beautiful birthday cake. We had plenty of delicious food to eat and beautiful roses as a center piece. We were able to use the employee dining room, which gave us complete privacy.
Dad was awake and fairly alert. He perked up when it was time for desert. When we told him there was chocolate cake, his response was, “what about ice cream?”
Donald had created a DVD with hundreds of family photos going back over 70 years, at least. He showed Dad and the rest of us a sampling of the photos, which included captions so we knew who we were looking at. Donald had a copy of the DVD for all the families to take home and enjoy. Thanks Donald!
I love that your dad is all about the dessert! If he ever fails to acknowledge nanner puddin or chocolate cake, we may need to check on him!
Yeah, very true!
