More blood work today and then an appointment with my oncologist to see if I’m okay to start radiation treatment next week. After a white blood cell count (WBC) of only 0.8, we were glad to see that the WBC had jumped to 12.5, which is actually above normal. Once the Newlasta drug kicked-in it really boosted my WBC. With the WBC and other test results within acceptable range, I have the green light to start radiation next Monday, June 21.
Dr. Barbara provided additional instruction about preparing for radiation and ordered an appointment with a speech therapist to discuss treatments (both prophylactic and reactive) for potential side effects with swallowing, speech, etc.
All in all, a good report today!
Love those good reports!! I’m serious about investing in Newlasta. I know it hurts, but WOW.
