It has been six weeks since my last appointment with Dr. Barbara, my oncologist. I gave her an update that my swallowing has improved, not gone, but improved. Although we had communicated via email earlier, she reiterated that the CT scan results in mid-November were very good, just what she expected from the treatment regimen. She explained that this latest scan is now my “new baseline” and that future scan results will be compared to this scan’s results.
Physical therapy for the lymphedema in my neck had ended last week and Dr. Barbara was pleased with the results. The swelling in my neck had been reduced considerably during the eight weeks of physical therapy. I will continue messaging my neck in an effort to reduce the swelling even further. Although I must admit that with the extra pounds I’ve added in the past eight months, the “flab” in my neck is doing a good job of partially hiding the lymphedema swelling. Looks like I need to lose some weight and work to reduce the lymphedema swelling.
Next appointment in eight weeks!
